Maple Story Warrior Guide

A Warrior Guide For Choosing Your Maple Story Character.

Warriors are melee fighters and they are unable to use range attack like other character classes in Maple Story. This means that they can only hit their target up close.

Warriors have the most health and defence in the game which enables them to be able to withstand taking hits from their enemies.

While Warriors can render a lot of damage per hit, they always have to be within short range to the enemies during attacking which can become plain and boring at times.

The Pros of using Warrior as your character class in Maple Story are as follows:

1. Warriors in Maple Story have the highest HP and Defence among all the Maple Story classes.

2. They have the choice of 5 different weapon types to choose from.

3. Warriors can choose between one-handed weapons and two-handed weapons.

4. They can receive nice skills such as Slast Blast which allow them to kill multiple enemies concurrently with a single strike.

And the Cons of using your Warrior character in MapleStory are as follows:

1. Being a Warrior means that you are unable to do range attacks from a distance to attack the monsters.

2. They have a low amount of MP in comparison to other character class such as a Magician.

3. Warriors' damages during attacks can be unstable at times as the damages that they caused can vary a lot.

4. They have low Accuracy and Avoidability when compared to other Maple Story characters.

The above helpful pointers serve as a warrior guide for you when choosing your Maple Story character.

Runescape DIY - Part V

Runescape DIY - Part V

=====
Range
=====

Revised by: X Pk X Str X, Dangoso

Ever wanted to kill that monster without breaking a sweat?
Ever wanted that cape of fire?
Crystal bow?!

Then Range really is the skill for you. Would you be able to do, AND afford to get the fire cape purely on mage and melee? Of course it's possible, yet Range is easily the best choice. And as much as people hate it, farcasting is a skillful tactic used to win Duels and Pk'ing alike.

Ever since the update of Crossbows, people have found a new love to range. First, the max was in the 20s. Then it shifted up to 30s. Now, it's easily in the 60s. Void knight? I mean really, you'd NOT want this cape?

______________
Arrow Droppers
ˉˉˉˉˉˉˉˉˉˉˉˉˉˉ

Rune - Dust Devils, Fire Giants, Range Minigame
Addy - Ankou
Steel - Ava's Accumulator
Bronze/Iron - Minotaurs
Mith Bolts - Chaos Druids (RoW), Waterfiends

If all else fails, you can always smith or fletch your own

________
Weapons
ˉˉˉˉˉˉˉˉ

MSB: The old favorite. It’s cheap, effective, accurate, fast, and can do good damage.

Rune C'bow: My new favorite since they’ve been updated. Gem tipped bolts WILL kill faster than their arrow counterparts and they give a new purpose to all those bolts and gems you have lying around. In addition to the latest slayer update, broad bolts are a cheap new favorite. Better than addy, yet so much cheaper!

For a list of all the bolt heads and their enchanted effects, visit the RS Knowledge Base!

Crystal Bow: I prefer the MSB with rune arrows to the Crystal bow, but this kills at about the same rate and if it keeps you from buying arrows then I’m all for it!

Karil’s C'Bow: If you do barrows runs anyway, why not fire a few bolt racks off? It may be the best Staking or Fight Caves weapon out there. Don’t forget that you can buy racks in Port Phasmatys.

Dorgeshuun C'bow: As fast as your average Crossbow, and much cheaper ammo (bought after Lost Tribe). You only need 28 Ranged!

Knives/Darts: When I make these, I actually prefer darts. Feathers are easier to get than ores, and darts kill just as fast. Either is best used against weaker monsters, such as Fire Giants or Bloodvelds.

Dark Bow: Not the world's best choice in training. Good for pk'ing, that's about it. Prices are dropping a lot, and will become stable.

Hunter C'Bow: Comparable to MSB with Mith/Addy arrows. If you enjoy tracking this is a good perk!

Chinchompas: Possibly the fastest Range Xp out there as they hit multi-target. Again if you Hunt ‘em, use ‘em! Otherwise, they are a serious drain to your cash income.

Salamanders: I haven’t played with these much, but they can train Str, Mage and Range as well as giving you something to do with Herbs you may not use. Most of all though, these are fun and this is a game ya know! Check the Herblore post for tips on making ammo.

Cannon: Still don’t like it, but you can't deny the results!

___________
Range Armor
ˉˉˉˉˉˉˉˉˉˉˉ

D hides: The standard set; from regular leather to Black D, this is the base with which all other armors are compared. Cheap and effective and coming in a variety of styles from FoG, to Treasure Trails to the Crafting skill this is your default costume.

Void Knight: Excellent for fighting things you don't miss often in other range gear. Increases level by 15%, which includes damage done! Wear this any time you can.

Karil's Set: Mainly used for it's high Mage resistance, I choose D hides over Karil's every time I'm ranging

Showoff Gear: Third age, Armadyl, even the Archer Ring is not worth the cost from an effectiveness standpoint despite having higher stats than your standard black D. The purpose of these items is to show off, so wear them with pride if you can afford 'em!

Boots: Having only three range boosting selections to choose from is much better than one or none in the old days! Frog boots (+2), Snakeskin (+3), and Ranger (+8) are some of the most expensive bonuses you can buy. Spend your money here last for best results!

Hats: We've come a long way from the days of Cowl or Coif, but much like the boots, higher range bonuses get expensive. Two often overlooked helms are Penance Ranger and Spined. Both have the same +6 to range that the standard Archer helm has without the cost or requirements to wear

__________
What to Kill
ˉˉˉˉˉˉˉˉˉˉ

Slayer is a great way to train range. Although the Xp rates are a bit lower, you profit from nearly all tasks you don't use a cannon for.

Dragons are my favorite target. They support crafting and prayer and make money like no other. Please see the Bestiary for Range tips on nearly all Dragons, and the Prayer and Crafting posts for tips on using the drops!

Demons are popular to range. Try the Lesser in the Wizard Tower, Greaters in the Ogre Enclave, or the Blacks in Taverley, under Edgeville, or the Chaos Tunnels (high Crimson charm drop rate here!). High Hp, mediocre defense, and decent drops make these great for those who want good Xp rates without constantly staring at the screen.

Elves are commonly ranged in the Elf Camp (NW Tirannwn) but more often melee’d in Lletya due to the proximity to an altar. They are exceptional droppers, having essentially the same drops as dragons, except they cough up premade, alchable green d hide and clues often. Never fight the ranger elves though!

If you must range Fire Giants, there is one up for Ranging in the back of the Smoke Dungeon near Fareed’s cave. It’s a long trip, but you’ll be the only one there!

For lower level Rangers who trained their melee skills up first, you may consider Melee/Range fighting. If you pick a monster that can’t hurt you, such as Men, Chaos Druids, Cows and Chickens etc… then you don’t need safespots to range. Even very low level NPCs drop useful Herbs and other supplies. All you have to do is actually pick them up!

Even higher level rangers can find close quarters fighting with knives to be profitable. Chaos Druids, Banshees Cave slimes, Desert Goats, and Mos Le'Harmless Snakes are all level 35- monsters worth 500 to 2K Gp per kill. Ranging them you can stand put and have them bring the drops to you

And finally, Aviansies. Commonly hunted either for Armadyl kill count or the fact they are exceptional addy bar droppers, they're also fairly good experience. Many people like to bring pray pots and pray against them, but it's now seen as safe to tank them with the right equipment. As they are found in GWD, it's always highly recommended to bring at least one item of the other gods, excluding Bandos possibly  Not a far walk from the Trollheim tele spot, their position really does help and their drops will probably make you happy !

Runescape DIY - Part IV

=====
Quests
=====

I suggest doing every Runescape Quest that comes out the day it comes out. They almost always carry something useful, even if it’s not “High Level”. If you are fairly new to runescape members you can easily be overwhelmed by the sheer number of red names on that Quest List. Just take them one at a time and you’ll get there. Yes I did them all, without guides (except MEP2, which was nasty!) and no I DON’T HELP WITH QUESTS OR WRITE QUEST GUIDES!

In version one I had 2 full posts listing the uses of almost every quest in the game. I did it to make a point; even “Nooby” quests are in fact very useful. A great example is Tower of Life, which got as many rants as any quest I’ve seen. But if you actually use the Minigame it opens up, you’ll find it to be invaluable at collecting Herblore seconds and feathers and it can be fun if you let it!

Don’t let others detour you from enjoying your Runesape Game. If you don’t do things that people deem as “Nooby", then all you’ll do is GWD all day long!

Be warned not to take your best gear into a boss fight for the first time! You may not live to regret it...

Dan's Charos Uses Guide:

Creature of Fenkenstrain to get the ring
Garden of Tranquillity to get it activated (a). Only need to start!

Uses:

- Entering the Werewolf Agility Course
- Choosing a cat (why you would want to???)
- Cheap access to blast furnace
- Free travel to Karamja from Ardy and Port Sarim
- Changing your Fremennik name
- Flying magic carpets for cheaper
- Selling fur in Varrock for higher price
- Cheap cart rides to and from Keldagrim
- Free ride from Morton to the swamp (fairly useless again)
- Less of your gold being taken by the dwarf when using Between a rock gold mine and using him to bank
- Allowed to use bass instead of shark to get a new enchanted lyre in Relekka.
- Free boat rides to the Fishing Colony (during Swan Song)

These are the monsters that can be particularly useful. They drop the items listed often and typically in a stackable form. They are also easy to fight for a well-rounded player with all of the equipment and travel options open to them. Many also drop alchable (600+ gp) items frequently.

If you’re short the 82 thieving, Chaos Druids can also be found in the Blood rune tower and the Edgeville dungeon. Also, Chaos Druid warriors have essentially the same drops; just replace Mith Bolts with Limps.
There are plenty of big game hunting guides out there as well. As a DIYer, you can strive to kill all of them for their drops or just for fun, but there is no shame in buying first and getting a drop later

_______
Dragons
ˉˉˉˉˉˉˉ
From Green to Mith, Dragons are some of the most useful training for both cash and Xp in the game, so there's an entire section of the Bestiary devoted solely to dragonslaying. From mediocre combat skills to maxed out stats there's something for everyone, so please enjoy! And if you don't want to be Bar-B-Que, take some fire insurance with you.

Green dragons
ˉˉˉˉˉˉˉˉˉˉˉˉ
Green dragons (lvl 79) are the weakest fully grown dragons and easily beaten. With the right techniques these are easily the best for Hide collecting, and really good cash as well. There’s also a bad side however, they’re all in the wilderness.

- In the far east corner of the Wilderness, just east of Clan Wars.
This place is an absolute no-no, unless you’re desperate, or very high leveled. Although there are a lot of green dragons here, this place can be more crowded than your average bank. You’ll waste a lot of time looking for a dragon to kill, which really isn't worth it.

- In the far west corner of the Wilderness, near the Dark Warrior’s Fortress.
There are 3 green dragons here. It’s not the best spot, because it can be quite crowded and even though it’s low level Wilderness, it’s still Wilderness.

- In the Chaos Tunnels. Use the entrance north of the GE.
This is probably the best spot for green dragons. It’s not in the Wilderness and it’s usually quiet. The only annoyance can be the 4 baby black dragons that also lurk there. They can be trapped if they're a problem, or can even be healed on with Guthans. Handy if you're burying the bones there

Blue dragons
ˉˉˉˉˉˉˉˉˉˉˉ
When it comes to bone collecting, blue dragons are probably your best choice. They are level 111, so if you are a low level player, pray while meleeing or range them.

- Below the Heroes Guild.
There is only one dragon here, and usually there is already someone killing it. Not recommended.

- Taverley Dungeon.
This is probably the best known spot to kill blue dragons, and that’s why you should avoid it; it is too crowded. However, there are some advantages. At 70 agility you can use the shortcut, which makes it the closest spot to a bank. It also has a few safespots for rangers and halberds.

- The Ogre Enclave beneath Gu’Tanoth.
This is the best spot to kill blue dragons. Although it has grown in popularity, it is still usually less populated than the other two areas. There are 6 blue dragons in the cave, all with safespots. It’s quite a walk to the nearest bank, but simply Duel ring tele to CW and you can nearly make it all the way back to the cave on run energy alone. If you're using a Bull Ant of T-Bird to carry hides, one spec scroll will put you right back in the fight!

Red dragons
ˉˉˉˉˉˉˉˉˉˉˉ
Red dragons aren’t very good for bone collecting because all spots are in very remote locations. At 152 combat, they pack quite a punch as well. These are best killed solely for the hides with your best BoB alongside.

- Red Dragon Isle
Since this spot is in about level 40 Wilderness, just being there is dangerous for your health! There is a large chance you’ll get a visit from several revenants, and the closest bank is in Bounty Hunter.

- Brimhaven Dungeon
A lot better compared to Red Dragon Isle, however, still not great. Although the Dungeon entrance is close to the Brimhaven POH portal, the walk through the tunnel is quite long and you need to bring a hatchet to chop through the vines (it can be dropped after). There's one good range spot, once the dogs stop attacking that is, along the far west wall where you can attack two dragons from.

Black dragons
ˉˉˉˉˉˉˉˉˉˉˉ
Black dragons are best killed with aid of your Black Mask on a slayer task, backed up by Melee protect, Super Atk/Str pots, and the Str prayer of your choice. Yes, they're that nasty, even for higher leveled fighters. If you choose the Range route, 90+ Range with projectiles that cost more than 100 Gp each are strongly recommended. Don't even attempt Mage unless you just enjoy autocasting runes.

- Taverley Dungeon
Especially with 70 or 80+ Agility, it becomes useful to use the Taverley Dungeon to Melee/Range Black Dragons and Demons. You’ll want to bring an Anti pot for the Poison Spiders. Best routes are Duel ring to CW to bank and a Taverley House tele/Balloon ride back, or just use your butler to bank for you.

- Evil Chicken's Lair
More convenient than Taverley, and less crowded due to quest requirements, this should be your first choice. All four Black dragons can be Meleed or Ranged and you'll often be able to take two to yourself. Glory tele to Draynor may be slightly faster than running to the Zanaris bank and back thanks to the weight of the hides, but you’ll have to recharge the glories and carry your Drayman/Lunar staff with you.

Bronze dragons
************
Best tip for Bronze dragons, run past them! If you can kill these, you can kill Irons and Irons have a far better chance of dropping the Dragon weapons and armor you're after. They can be found in Brimhaven Dungeon or the Chaos Tunnels, but are seriously not worth the time!

Iron/Steel dragons
ˉˉˉˉˉˉˉˉˉˉˉˉˉˉˉ
Both only found just past the Bronze Dragons in the Brimhaven Dungeon, these are very popular for many reasons. Duradel loves to assign them, they have tremendous drops, including that ever so coveted Visage, and they're excellent low clicking Mage Xp that could actually be profitable! These are best Melee'd only on Slayer tasks combined with Black Mask, Super Sets, Melee and Str prayers, and Anti-fire pots, or Ranged with Diamond bolts (e).

They are much better than Black dragons for Maging though. Common battle spells for Metal Dragons are Slayer Dart, Bolt spells with Chaos Gauntlets, Blast/Wave Spells, Ancient Magiks, or Claws of Guthix with the Void Knight Mace for the auto casting. Claws of Guthix is recommended because it lowers defense, hits very hard when charged, and because Blood runes are common drops. Not to mention they're cheaper than most Ancient Mage spells.

Brutal Green dragons
ˉˉˉˉˉˉˉˉˉˉˉˉˉˉˉˉˉ
Just like the Bronze, if you can handle these you can take the stairs down into the Mith dragons for much better drops! They do drop two Green D hides per kill, but you can kill two normal Greens faster, and these do not drop Visages!

Runescape Gold

Mithril dragons
ˉˉˉˉˉˉˉˉˉˉˉˉ
Only found in The Ancient Cavern after completing some Barbarian Training tasks, these are the last stop on the dragonslaying trail. These are your best chance at a Visage, but even if you don't get one you'll nearly make up the cost of your supplies with just the Mith bars and D bones. Since it's single combat, a BoB or healing familiar is good to bring, but they won't jump in the pool with you so you'll have to dismiss them each run. Also, Pineapple pizzas are great food for these, as well as the full range of Pots and Prayers. Spare no expense fighting these or they're not worth your time!

I suggest sticking with the two spawns closest to the entrance, the closest if you wish to Melee and the northern one if you're ranging. Again, Diamond bolts (e) are recommended for Rangers, and Karils for either method as they have a nasty Mage and Range attack. Pray Melee if you're Melee'ing and pray Range if you're ranging and just take the Mage attacks on the chin. Do NOT forget a one click tele. You will take damage and if you get too comfortable you can lose a lot of cash dying here!

And do you play other games? Such as Maple Story , Lotro  and so on.

FAQ
====

Q: If this is a DIY guide, why do you buy stuff? Shouldn't you earn it?

A: I did earn it. My whip cost me 4.3M when I bought it. Here years later, I'm still 15 Slayer levels shy of getting a drop myself. I have no problem rewarding the hard work of others, and there is no autoer market for Whips, Dragon Items, Treasure Tails, or Barrows gear. What else am I supposed to spend my Runescape Gold Millions on?

Q: You help people all the time! You give away free stuff, guide lost players on their first Treasure Trail, and even give quest support! Why don't you tell them to DIY?

A: Of course I help people. When I started playing that was more common than it is now. I would not have gotten where I am today without the support of others and it just feels good!

The guide is my largest gesture of that same help. I TOLD you how I DIY, all my tips and tricks that I earned I gave freely and you've responded in kind with great tips you've worked for. You've made my RS experience better for it and I hope I've enriched yours as well.

Q: This isn't DIY, this is just fighting monsters for drops instead of working for your stuff!

A: There are many ways to DIY. My reason for writing the guide was to shed light on ALL the in game features you can use to collect raw materials. Hence my Temple Trekking guide, and my support of using the Kingdom Managing to collect materials for you.

True, there are many more hardcore DIYers out there than myself. Most support this guide and many have submitted tips!

Q: Buying materials is the fastest way to level skills!

A: Did you count the time you spent making that money to buy the skills? If you merchanted, how much Xp did you get? Do you really think that everyone can make 2 mil a day? Are you still sure that everyone will gain more total Xp and money your way?

NOTE: If you plan on disproving the entire guide with something as simple as buying vs. mining Ess, it won't work!

General Tips
==========
Senior Revisers: Brunhoff, Jack Sam1, Darkkirby100, Bunni Killer

WARNING! I will not be held responsible for Item Loss whilst you read this guide!

Have you tried Temple Trekking recently? If not, check out the Guide (QFC on the Front page). It is an excellent source of Pure Ess, Bowstrings, Silver, Herbs and also just a lot of fun!

Trouble Brewing is also a fun source of FREE Xp! QFC on the Front page.

Do ALL of the quests! If you don't want to do them all, then don’t do Gertrude’s Cat! Of course, that will stop you doing several others that are more useful, but man do I hate other peoples cats!

Put all teleports in your house! Covered later, but it is just that important! Also, feel free to change your house location to use it as a teleport location. The time this saves makes up for the moving charges.

Almost all the monsters I list drop items for not just one, but several skills. Mindlessly killing Experiments is not what the DIYer is about.

Remote locations near any teleport site aren't so remote. Simply use a Duel ring, Glory ammy, or Games neck to bank with and then teleport back. I use teleports in nearly all of my training sites.

Speaking of teleports, the new Slayer rings are excellent for getting all over RS. Not only do they provide the best access to remote Slayer sites, but thanks to a Fairy ring at the Slayer cave a Slayer ring charge is now the quickest way to access the Fairy Ring network.

Use elf crystals, ectophials, or teletabs as one click safety teleports anytime you're going into a dangerous area. Yes, even if you've done Barrows a thousand times before.

Don't walk anywhere! Have as many teleport items as you can make/afford. Have enough Dragonstone jewelery, Duel rings, Games necks, teletabs, Law runes, and what-not to use without having to worry about running out!

There are two things to consider when choosing a world, population and lag. Naturally, too much lag slows training to a crawl. Also, high world populations means much faster respawn times on everything from Rune Rocks to Rock Slugs, but there's a better chance of a training site being populated. On the other hand, German, QC, and other slow servers may respawn slow but give you the opportunity to monopolize those Catherby Yew trees. Experiment and learn which worlds are best for your training needs.

A DIYer always does the clues they get. If it’s in the game, you can get it!

Farming can be done while doing anything else. If you know you’re going past a farming patch anyway, go ahead and plant something. Toadflax, tomatoes, and Marigold seeds are good for casual planting, and can be profitable without much risk of loss.

If you’re not Melee fighting, there’s no reason not to wear Ava's Accumulator from the Animal Magnetism quest. I know you want to show off, but if I can bank the full dragon, Guthans, and my QP cape, you can too. The free arrows really add up, and it even works with Granite plates if you are Melee fighting

Use the sound effects and the chat window to your advantage. You typically finish an action about halfway through the animation. This is particularly useful for repetitive clicking tasks like flax picking, alching, and thieving.

Also you may find the one-button setting useful when you have to right click often.

As the saying goes, one man’s trash…If the guy next to you doesn’t want his gems or coins or runes or whatever don’t be afraid to pick them up. Other than the word “Noob” there is nothing stopping you.

Learn how to drink energy pot WHILE you're running. Sure you'll lose one inventory slot, but you'll save a lot of time. This is especially handy while RCing.

Strange fruit is just another free energy restore built into the game itself. Save ‘em and use ‘em. Don't forget the White Fruit from the Garden of Tranquility quest either!

Learn to use the GE more effectively. Selling for 1 gp below market price, or buying for 1 gp above often bumps you to the head of the line.

Join a Skilling Clan, Player Guild or an RS business if you're finding yourself getting bored easily. Making a G&A thread to keep track of your progress can add meaning and enjoyment to your skill goals, especially if you're experimenting with various training techniques to write a guide about your experiences.

Use the saltwater spring prior to starting a quest for temporary non stop run. "As a First Resort..." needed to access and can be useful for all kinds of activities!

Here are some useful routines to get into.

Daily Checklist:
ˉˉˉˉˉˉˉˉˉˉˉ
- Buy Battlestaves from Za* * up to 64 w/ Varrock Lvl3 armor
- Buy Seaweed (80) and Pineapples (40) from Arhien in Catherby
- Visit Bert the Sandman for free sand (84)
- Kill Bork if you can!
- Mine a Shooting star for great mining Xp, ore mining boosts, and cash and runes!

Weekly Checklist:
ˉˉˉˉˉˉˉˉˉˉˉˉˉ
- Tears of Guthix
- Kingdom Managing (refill coffers and favor at least weekly for best results!)
- Jade Vine (check every other day, first for 1500 Farm Xp and if not replanted kill it for 2500 Slayer Xp)
- Find penguins for up to 15 penguin points (97.5K cash or level based Xp in chosen skill)
- Perform in the circus for ~5-25K Xp in Range, Mage, and Agility

Runescape DIY - Part II

The original reason this guide was written was to combat the plague of RWT and bots by showing people that they could have fun playing this game without aid of autoers. Jagex had they're own ideas about how to fix this problem though  However, without bots driving down the price on raw materials it has become even more profitable to adopt a DIY attitude, so we've redoubled our efforts to ensure that you can take advantage of this brave new RS!

This Runescape guide will attempt to instruct you in a variety of in-game features such as Combat, Mini games, Teleports, and Quest areas that significantly reduce the time of collecting raw materials. And I get bored easy so I’ve found many ways to make the mundane a little less mundane!

If you read and follow the advice in this guide, you will no longer be a slave to fluctuating market prices, overcrowded training areas, or any new scam that comes along. If everyone follows this guide, the aforementioned maladies will cease to exist! Of course, it will take much more than one guide to do that for everyone, but it's enough for just you

Here begins the guide. Each post will contain a skill, my preferred training areas, tips on multitasking while training, and of course, how to Do It Yourself!

If you've already read a DIY 5 series, check the ERRATA on Post 5 for changes that are made daily! Don’t forget player tips on Page 11!

Official DIY World - 137!

Remember to ask any questions  in our clan chat: 'Diy Chat' .

DIY = Do It Yourself! Please note that this is not a “Get Rich Quick” or “Fastest way to 99 Guide”. This Do It Yourself guide exposes many ways to quickly and effectively add raw material collection into your training routine. If you use this guide correctly, you'll be able to gather many skill building materials yourself faster than you can buy them!

Yes I know there are faster ways to do many things, but not everyone plays for P-hats and skill capes!

First, a little about how a DIY'er plays:

1) Everything in RS is free. All you have to do is get it!
2) Skills support other skills in more than the obvious Fish/Cook relationship
3) All quests are worth the time, period!
4) You lose money/exp every time you buy/sell raw materials
5) The best areas are vacant so log onto busy worlds to decrease the respawn times
6) The Game should be FUN! This is not WORK!

Olympic highs and lows

One of the most special feelings I had during the Olympics came right at the end. The closing ceremony was a memory. The torch had been passed to London. I finished my story in the press gallery of the stadium and was walking along the Olympic Green.

People were extraordinarily joyful. Thousands of couples and families milled outside, taking photos of one another. Some held up flashlights in the shape of Olympic torches or draped themselves in flags.

It was very multinational. For some reason, a guy was speaking in French over the loudspeaker system. I saw people sitting on the cleanly mown grass in common areas eating snacks as if such an activity were normal in Beijing. No signs to keep off the grass or worries about the usual animal or human filth in green areas.

It really was the first time I’d had a chance to take in the beauty of the Bird’s Nest at night with its glowing red underneath the silver girders. The water cube was also in full splendor, with patches of magenta moving gracefully along the translucent blue panels.

Everybody was extraordinarily relaxed. For the Chinese, the tensions were over. The country did well. Nothing major disrupted the Games. Foreign tourists were happy, all for various reasons. For a moment, the real meaning of the Olympics, the common quest of humans to take joy in sport, accomplishment and each other, seemed to descend on Beijing.
///
Chinese athletes did extraordinarily well in individual sports in the Olympics.

But I must say what really grabbed my attention at the Games were two powerhouse countries of sport: Australia and Jamaica. Pound for pound, they are athletic champions without rival.

Jamaica, with its population of less than three million people, took six gold medals and 11 total medals. Jamaican sprinter Usain Bolt captured three world records. Despite admonishments from IOC chief Jacques Rogge to tone down his antics (see my story here and video here), Bolt would not be slowed.

For its part, you couldn’t walk a block around Beijing, at least where I hang out, without coming across an Aussie contingent of fans cheering on their athletes, who won 14 gold medals and 46 medals overall, coming in fifth among all nations.

I ran into my colleague Rowan Callick of The Australian newspaper at the beach volleyball venue one day, and he explained that one reason is the extraordinary support Australian taxpayers give for sport. No politician in Oz dares suggest taking money away from sports programs or recreation centers.
///
One of the extraordinary moments, for me at least, was the chance to stand in what are called “mixed zones” at the different venues. These “mixed zones” are cordoned areas where athletes pass once the competition is over and can talk to journalists. At some venues, it was a mob scene, as when Bolt smashed the 100-meter dash record at the Bird’s Nest. At other times, it was utterly relaxed. I chatted up Natalie Cook, an Australian beach volleyball player, about how she felt about the weather and smog in Beijing, without having a whit of an idea who she was. Not till later did I find out she’s a bit of a legend.

I also was in a crowd of journalists around Paula Radcliffe, the world champion marathoner, as she talked about why she failed again to capture an Olympic medal. She broke down into tears twice in 10 minutes. And the journalists were clearly moved (I was, for sure). Here’s my story on that.
///
On the final morning, Rogge, the IOC chief, offered a final press conference and was asked what was the most memorable moment of the Games were for him.

He brought up something I hadn’t been aware of because I’d had my head buried in other Olympics-related matters.

But at the shooting venue, it was déjà vu all over again for U.S. target shooter Matt Emmons.

As Rogge reminded us, Emmons was the guy who threw away a gold medal in Athens four years ago by shooting at the wrong target on the last of his 130 shots.

"This is something already very painful," Rogge said.

Well, Emmons did it again in Beijing. He shot brilliantly during the entire competition until the very end, when his rifle fired accidentally into the air, costing him another gold medal.

"Again leading and being very close to gold, he took his rifle, put his hand on the trigger and, for some reason, the trigger went off," Rogge said.

Rogge said he admired Emmons' resilience after again losing gold. Emmons vowed to be there in London 2012 to try to win gold for a third time.

“This is the true spirit of the Olympic Games. The Games is not only about winning, not only about being triumphant. It is about the struggle of every athlete every day to achieve his or her own limits and having this resilience,” Rogge said.

"Let's hope he does come back."

On a final personal note, I mentioned a few months back that my youngest daughter would be participating in one of the Olympics ceremonies. We never knew whether it would be the opening or closing ceremony. She and some 150 of her classmates at Fangcaodi Elementary School were picked to sing the Greek national anthem, and there they were on the field during the closing ceremony.

From where I was sitting in the press section, I couldn't pick her out. But a good friend of ours who is a photographer for the AFP news agency (and who hadn't seen our daughter for eight years) recognized her and shot this photo.

I kept looking up at the big screen to see if her face would appear. It never did but we do have the photos.

One other thing: Unlike some singers at the opening and closing ceremonies, these kids weren't lip-synching. They actually had to learn the Greek words.

New Gold transfer Way, I get Rune(g) Full Set Cool!

After Jagex update the trading condition in runescape with 3k limit for every player in game.

More details view Runescape - Trade and Drop Changes & RuneScape vs Real-world Trading .

And our worker find out the new way to transfer runescape gold from our runescape accounts to others. So lots of runescape players come to our site and ask how to transfer gold and they are boring, and I think they are kids.

Correct, we know the new way to transfer gold. But I think no runescape gold selling site will tell you how to do that. The gold transfer process is very complicated. And it's our business secret. If we tell other players, we will lose job. So kids do you think we will tell you how to that? Absolutely not.

But we will do our best to transfer gold to customers' runescape account as fast as possible. And from the runescape - trade and drop changes. Lots of runescape player have bought from our site. And they are very satisfaced with our service.

It's easy to understand, like we could trade millions gold instantly in game, our worker farming gold for customers, but we never tell they how to get gold fast in game.

I used to creat an runescape account and play it privately, but not with our worker. Although I have view some runescape guide , But I find out that it hard to lvl up, because I am poor in game. But if you have lots runescape gold , lvl up is very easy .

But jagex baned my runescape account without any reasons. I have less 20k runescape coins on my account. Faint..Jagex..

I used to want to buy runescape gold, because I want to lvl up quickly. But they disable my account when I want to buy the runescape moeny.

I have viewed some runescape forum, there is a story, grandma play game with her grandson, and the lvl of grandson account is very high , so he gave some gold to his grandma, but their accounts both get disabled, they are angry. and then they decided to quit runescape forever.

And my account jagex disabled with combat lvl 43, attach 39, strength 37, defence 38. And my fishing is 30, cooking 31, fire making 13.

And I used to be very disappionted with Jagex and runescape . But think back my gaming time in runescape, the game still intresting.

So I decided to play another runescape account.

My account! Aha.

Before I get the full rune(g) set, I used to wear rune full set.

But I think rune (g) set is so shine , and looks nice, so I decided to make money and then buy full rune(g) set from grand exchange.. Finall I got it.

sky account with rune(G) set in game

When I walking or running in game , people always said nice armor, so pretty !!<^_^>

Settle for admiration went without saying..

But making the money take me about 10days, because I only play at leisure-time and my account lvl is low.

sky account lvls

And I think farming gold is a boring thing to normal players. Finally with our worker help I get the money.

I tried to fishing and mining ,but there are lots of players need fish and gold ore too, so it cost me lots of time.

And I wanted to buy runescape gold, but our professional worker help me how to get money fast.

But I think if you are normal players, you need to spend lots of time to farming gold, because the rune(g) set cost 1.6millions.

Get 1.6 milions runescape gold will take you long time , but our professional worker could get them fast.

So I suggest player if you want to update your armor set and weapon, buying gold is fast and saving time method. So you could have more time to gaming in runescape, have fun!

We could transfer 5mils gold to your account with 3 hours.

Now , I have fun gaming runescape with ppl's anthem.

Maple Story Guide: How to get Mesos

Maple Story Guide: How to get Mesos

Introduction

This guide is ONLY for people who are UNfunded. If you are funded, you might find this guide useless since you already have a character with lots of mesos. However, you are always welcome to follow this guide to get even richer.

This guide was made to help people gain mesos. Everyone wants to be rich but people do stupid things to get rich that actually will make them poor. This guide will not gaurentee to make you rich to the point you can buy anything you want but it will get you richer than before.

Some people dislike hunting because it wastes money and slows down your leveling speed. That is because they do not know how to hunt EFFICIENTLY. However, if know how to hunt, you can get rich (based on your luck) really fast. Hunting is like gambling. A person who hunts will level WAY slower than a person who trains. That person will also spend much more money than the other. But the reward for the person who hunts is WAY better than the person who trains.

Mesos Making for Low Levels (lvl 30 or below)

How to save Maplestory money

There are many ways to save money. The most common way people came up with is to spend less pots while leveling. Lets say you are a warrior and you spend about 100 white pots per level power training. If you conserve your hp pots by resting on a safe spot for your hp to recharge, you will spend 0 white pots and only mana pots (if you use any special attacks). You have just saved 100 * 320 = 32k per level on pots ONLY. For mages, this goes with mp. However, this is NOT recommended if you want to level fast for your 2nd job advance. This is an inefficient way of leveling. Also, the money you spend on pots will probably break even from monster's mesos and drops.

Distributing your ap points can save you tons of MapleStory meso. For warriors and mages, putting points into hp recov/mp recov will save you money from buying pots. Saving points for special attacks (lucky 7, magic claw, double arrow, power slash, etc) also will allow you to spend less pots (example: lvl 10 lucky 7 wastes 8 mp but lvl 11 wastes 11 mp and you only get a lil more damage out of it, so save the next 10 points and put them at the end).

Another way to save money is to buy cheaper equipments. For example, a sin with 4 subis and 2 wolbis wants to get better stars to deal more damage. He goes and buy 4 mokbis and 2 icicles. He
